Alternatively, the classic castle town of Carcassonne is just over an hour’s drive. A day splashing in the Med on the beach at Narbonne, just further down the autoroute, is an option, as is a visit to the Atlantic coast town of Biarritz a couple of hours the other way. Lourdes and Pau are both interesting places to visit, around an hour’s drive. In short, the gite offers guests options to easily access a varied range of places and activities guaranteed to entertain the whole family. We will keep the site updated with any links and information that will make your holiday as fun or quiet as you’d like it to be. A selection of leaflets promoting the attractions and activities will be placed in the lounge, along with a guest recommendation book. Please feel free to add your comments and any additional pamphlets. Further away, the range of attractions becomes more varied and diverse. The stunning mountains of the Pyrenees are an hour’s drive, as is the Spanish border. Walking, climbing, skiing, parascending, rafting and canoeing opportunities are plentiful as you follow the River Garonne down or wind up the mountain roads into places such as Luchon, a town with an historic and substantial thermal spa offering a range of relaxing treatments.
