La Paillasse

Property Details.

‘La Paillasse’ was built in the 18th century; a Haut-Garonne farmhouse constructed in the colombage style, thus featuring exposed beams inside and out. The solid walls result in the building being warm in the winter and fairly cool in the summer.

There are currently three bedrooms, all furnished with period furniture. The largest has three double-beds, one of which can be screened off by a curtain. There is a TV/VCR and DVD (which can be removed prior to your stay, if you wish). The other two bedrooms both have double beds, and if needed there is a sofa bed in the lounge. All bedrooms are large enough to take a travel cot, which can be supplied if needed.

There are two bathrooms. The one nearest the large bedroom is modern, with a walk-in shower, toilet and basin. The other bathroom has been recently decorated. Shower, bath, basin and bidet. A separate toilet is next to this bathroom.

The lounge has a cast iron inglenook fireplace, tiled floor and a large dining table. A radio, television, video, iDock and DVD player are available, together with a selection of children’s videos if the occasional quiet morning is encouraged. The TVs in the house are used purely for DVDs and videos, no aerials are connected. There is a range of novels for guests, and a fluctuating range of magazines according to whatever is abandoned by previous occupants
